In October 1963 Fred Bell, Donna Bell, Larry Conn and Tim Brown met at the Bell home in North Oyster to initiate the organization of the car club, The B.C. Vintage Car Club. The paper trail for the club starts early in 1964, Fred Bell - President, Larry Conn - Secretary held four actual meetings in 1964.

Donna (Caillet) is still active in the club. Donna and Armand are honorary life members. The early gatherings were usually family affairs with most young children attending. The club sponsored Annual Fall Tours, the last and most memorable was at the Ranch Point Naval Base. Among the things families enjoyed were oysters cooked on the half shell on the beach at Nanoose Bay and a large ball field for our old car games. Over the years we all enjoyed dances, dinners, costume parties, New Years Eve parties, fashion shows and many enjoyable tours. Over the years the club has sponsored numerous first class car shows. The main endeavors in 2002 were car displays in the local malls and our swap meet at the Equestrian Centre at North West Bay. The name B.C. Vintage car Club is gone as of January 1st, 2003, as we are now a new chapter, Nanaimo Chapter, of the Vintage Car Club of Canada.
